Intermediate modelling in Leapfrog Geo (Online)
3D geological modelling is a powerful and useful skill for any geologist. This course is designed to equip participants who are already familiar with Leapfrog Geo, with the skills to update an existing geological model using new drilling, structural data and complex interpretations. Attendees will be taken through advanced polyline editing tools, and an in depth look at the structural modelling tools in Leapfrog Geo. This course also covers the use of existing cross-sections to guide your 3D geological modelling.
Course Outline
- Updating an existing model with new drilling
- Importing new structural data
- Using the interval selection tool
- Creating a trust fault from surface mapping and downhole structural measurements
- Importing and using cross-sections to guide modelling
- Structural modelling using Stereonet, the form interpolants and structural trends
- Editing a folded surface using the polyline tools
- Using the “Offset-Surface” modelling tool.
Target Audience
Geologists, with modelling experience, wanting to expand on their knowledge of 3D geological modelling using Leapfrog Geo.
